Hostel Bulwark - Valenca

The staff at this hostel were absolutely amazing! They were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. The location of the hostel was also fantastic - right in the heart of the city, with easy access to all the main attractions. I also really enjoyed the comfortable and clean beds. It was a great place to rest after a long day of exploring.

There were a couple of downsides to my stay. First, the check-in process was quite slow and took longer than expected.

I recently spent Christmas at a hostel in Valenca and I must say, it was an interesting experience. the best aspects of my stay were the warm and friendly staff, who were accommodating and helpful. They even packed up breakfast for me when I had to leave early. the location was also a key factor, as it was in the heart of the town and provided easy access to shops and restaurants. the beautiful view of the surrounding area added to the charm of the place.

The highlight was staying in the spectacular fortress, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area. I highly recommend this hostel for its impeccable standards and unique experience.

We had an amazing stay at this hostel situated in a castle. Perfect location to explore the city. Clean, well-designed with great attention to detail in decor. Wonderful staff who went above and beyond. Beautiful washroom.

Despite the downsides, our host Barbara was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made our stay more enjoyable. She effortlessly created a sense of family amongst the guests, fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Furthermore, the location of the hostel was unbeatable. Located in a historic castle, it provided the perfect base for exploring all the attractions of the city. Lastly, the hostel itself had tasteful and beautiful design, with attention to detail in the decor that enhanced the overall ambiance of the place.

The breakfast could have been more diverse and plentiful. It lacked fresh rolls, pastries, sliced cheese, and fresh coffee.

The hostel is nestled within a lovely fortress, creating a unique and atmospheric experience. The rooms were impeccably clean and had a cozy and inviting atmosphere. We especially loved the comfortable beds and the included breakfast. The location was perfect, just minutes away from the fine walls and ramparts with amazing sunrise and sunset views. Despite a few minor inconveniences like the button-system shower and the limited laundry hanging options, our overall stay was fabulous. We were nurtured and refreshed during our time at Bulwark. We highly recommend this hidden gem.

The price was on the higher end for budget travelers and some shops and restaurants were closed during my stay due to a town holiday.

I had an incredible stay at this lovely new hostel in Valença. the atmosphere was spa-like, with relaxing music and a beautiful scent. the furnishings were stylish and looked like they came straight out of a magazine. the staff were kind and helpful, and the breakfast included was delicious. the location was perfect, right in the historical center of Valença, just a short walk from the bridge to Spain. I would highly recommend Bulwark to everyone!
